What does the Youth Council do?
Our Youth Council is made up of young people between the ages of 11 to 18 who live, work, or go to school in the parish of Cranleigh.
Run by young people for young people, we give local young people a voice and enable you to make your views heard in the formal decision-making process of Cranleigh Parish Council.
It’s an opportunity for you to discuss issues affecting you and other young people, to engage with decision makers and contribute to improving the lives of young people within our community.
There are currently over 620 youth councils active across the UK. They work with all levels of local government including Parish and Community Councils as well as Unitary Authorities, Borough and County Councils.
Our main roles are to represent the views of local young people to decision-makers and to campaign on issues that are important to young people.
This can include looking at local council funded services for young people, getting involved with parish projects, finding out about local sports clubs, improving health and well-being for young people, and much more…
We run in partnership with Cranleigh Parish Council with guidance and assistance from lead parish councillors.
